Work Experience
Programmes Terms and Conditions
Age limits
Applicants participating in Work Experience (Internship),
WESP (Work and English Sandwich Programme) or Paid Work
Placement Programmes must be aged 18 or over. Applicants
participating in Work Trial Programmes must be aged
between 14 and 17.
Applicants enrolling on to English Language Training
Programmes as individuals must be aged 12 or over (Junior
Programmes), or 17 and over (Adult Programmes)
Nationality
Due to visa and work permit requirements, those
participating in full-time Work Experience (Internship)
or Work Trial Programmes must be citizens of a member
state of the European Union.
Participants taking part in WESP or Paid Work
Placement Programmes can be of any nationality (see visa
information).
Fees and charges agreement
All fees and charges will be agreed in writing prior
to any bookings for programmes are made.
Bookings and registrations
All bookings and registrations must be based on the
agreed documentation. If you do not already have a
specific agreement with Happy Kids, you should use the
appropriate booking and registration documentation that
you can find under the enrolment form section.
Bookings and registration forms must reach us well in
advance so that we can properly plan and organise your
programme: for Work Experience (Internship), Work Trials,
Work and English Sandwich and Paid Work Placement
Programmes at least eight weeks before your arrival in
the Turkey, unless any specific circumstances arise.
Discounts
Group Bookings - Additional discounts are available
for group bookings.
Bring a Friend - Individuals can earn a discount on
their bookings if they bring a friend along who pays the
full rates.
Contract
The receipt by Happy Kids of a booking or
registration (form either those on the website or other
agreed formats) will be considered a contract between
Happy Kids and you.
Invoicing
After we have received the formal booking or
registration form from you, we will send you an invoice
within 24 hours by email. If you need the original paper
copy of the invoice, an additional administration charge
will be added to the original invoice.
Payment
All bookings and registrations must be followed with
25 % of your fees or €100, whichever is the greater; you
will receive confirmation of the method of payment and
the amount.
Apart from any special agreements between you and the
school, all the other fees and charges must be paid
before the planned arrival of the individual or group.
Late payment
If we do not receive payment from you within the
agreed time limits, we will have to charge a late
payment administration fee of €50.
Bank charges
You must pay all bank charges relating to the booking
or registration. Also, if there are any bank charges for
the transfer of funds into the Happy Kids bank account,
you will be responsible for the payment of these.
Cancellation and refunds
In the event that you have to cancel your Programme,
we will charge you the following:
Individual applicants
Up to eight weeks before arrival: €100
administration fee per individual
Group bookings
Up to eight weeks before arrival: €100
administration fee per individual
Between six and eight weeks before arrival - 25%
of all fees and charges or €100, whichever is the
greater
Between four and six weeks of arrival - 50% of
all fees and charges
Between two and four weeks of arrival - 75% of
all fees and charges
Within two weeks of arrival - 100% of all fees
and charges.
Travel to and within the Turkey
The organisation, management and payment of travel to
and within the Turkey are not the responsibility of
Happy Kids. If Happy Kids is asked to organise and
manage such travel, this will be agreed in writing in
advance and charged as an additional service. However,
Happy Kids will meet the individual applicants or groups
upon their arrival in the town where they are going to
work or study and take them to their accommodation free
of charge.
Arrival in the town in which you will
work or study
You are required to organise your travel to make sure
that you arrive at the time you have specified. If you
arrive at a different time and do not contact us in
advance, you will be charged an additional 'Out of Hours
Meet and Greet' Fee of €50 per person.
Insurance
All Applicants should ensure they have appropriate
insurance cover for their personal possessions, any
medical, health, repatriation needs etc. Happy Kids is
not responsible for the organisation of or the payment
for these costs.
Where Happy Kids is asked to organise and pay for
insurance, this will be agreed in writing in advance and
charged as an additional service.
Work Experience (Internship), Work
Trial and Work and English Sandwich Programmes (WESP)
Work Experience (Internship), Work Trial and
WESPProgrammes are organised in accordance with the
information provided on the registration form (and other
supporting documentation) completed and submitted by the
applicant.
Where a Work Experience (Internship), Work Trial or
WESP Programme is not appropriate to the needs of the
applicant because of an error on the part of Happy Kids,
an alternative programme will be organised at no
additional cost to the applicant.
Where a programme is not appropriate to the needs of
the applicant because the information provided by the
applicant to Happy Kids had been misleading or otherwise
inaccurate, Happy Kids will attempt to organise an
alternative programme, although no guarantee is offered
that an alternative will be found. Where an additional
programme is found, Happy Kids reserves the right to
charge an extra organisation and management fee.
Paid work placement programme
Paid Work Placements are organised in accordance with
the information provided on the registration form (and
other supporting documentation) completed and submitted
by the applicant.
Where a Paid Work Placement is not appropriate to the
needs of the applicant because of an error on the part
of Happy Kids, an alternative Work Placement will be
organised at no additional cost to the applicant.
Where a Paid Work Placement is not appropriate to the
needs of the applicant because the information provided
by the applicant to Happy Kids had been misleading or
otherwise inaccurate, Happy Kids will attempt to
organise an alternative Paid Work Placement, although no
guarantee is offered that an alternative will be found.
Where an additional Paid Work Placement is found, Happy
Kids reserves the right to charge an additional
organisation and management fee.
Pay and remuneration for Happy Kids
programmes
Work Experience (Internship) Programmes are not paid
positions. For paid work placements, please, refer to
the Paid Work Placement Programme for more details.
Hours of work for all Work Experience
(Internship), Work Trials, WESP and paid work placement
programmes
Happy Kids cannot guarantee the number of hours of
work offered to the Applicant by the work experience
provider; however, Happy Kids will endeavour to secure
full-time placements appropriate to the sector.
Applicants must be aware that the actual hours they
work will be determined by the company in which they
work.
Level of English for all work
experience programmes
For applicants coming to the Turkey on a Work
Experience (Internship),Work Trials, WESP or Paid Work
Placement Programmes the minimum of 'Intermediate' level
of English is preferred. This means that they should be
able to hold a reasonable conversation in English, and
be able to read and write simple, non-technical
documents.
Where an Applicant arrives in the Turkey and their
level of English is not appropriate, they may be
required to attend an English Language Training
Programme at an additional cost.
Where their level of English is so poor that the work
experience provider is unwilling to accept the applicant
into their company, Happy Kids will endeavour to find an
alternative placement, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Where an alternative placement is found under such
circumstances, Happy Kids reserves the right to charge
an extra organisation and management fee.
